Real Madrid’s New Stadium to Grow over 10 Metres in height.
The Madrid City Council are expected to have approved Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu renovation project before Friday
The proposal was initially rejected by the mayor’s office, but extra details of the plans have now emerged with the arena set to become significantly taller as part of the rebuild which will expand the club museum and set up a luxury hotel.
Areas around the Bernabeu will be shifted around so that the Plaza de los Sagrados Corazones shopping centre will be torn down in favour of 6,000 square metres of a public garden while the parking lot and evacuation towers are set to be replaced by a pedestrian zone.
The refurbishment is expected to cost Real around 400 million euros and will add a roof to the Bernabeu, which was originally built in 1947.
